King William Fair
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is admission?
Admission for 2008 is $5 for adults. The
event is free for children 17 and under. Please look for the
prominently marked Admission Booths on the day of the Fair to
purchase your admission wrist band. You can also purchase
admission bands in advance at the Fiesta Store located at 2611
Broadway, San Antonio, Texas. Admission is mandatory. Your
admission fee and purchases help support local nonprofits.
Are coolers allowed in the Fair Zone?
In 2008, coolers will be admitted upon payment of a $30 fee per cooler. No glass
is allowed. Coolers are subject to search. In future years, no coolers will be allowed in the Fair Zone.
How much are tickets and what are they for?
You will need tickets to buy food and
beverages. Arts & Crafts vendors accept cash, and some may
accept checks or credit cards.
Tickets are 50 cents each and are available
at a number of ticket booths in the Fair Zone. The ticket booths
will be prominently marked and will be indicated on your Fair
Program, which you’ll receive when you purchase your
admission. Or check with one of the Information Booths for the
location of the nearest ticket booth.
Although tickets are 50 cents each, we cannot
make change. For example, if you wanted one ticket, we would
have to charge $1.00 and would give you two tickets. The tickets
come in sheets of 20, which are $10 each. We encourage you to
consider buying tickets in $10 increments.
We strive to have at least one ATM inside the
Fair Zone for your cash needs. Please consult your brochure or
an Information Booth for exact locations.
Are tickets or admission bands available in
advance?
Tickets for food and beverage purchases are
available only on the day of the Fair inside the Fair Zone.
Admission wrist bands will also be available on the day of the
Fair at the perimeter of the Fair Zone, but you can purchase
them in advance at the Fiesta Store located at 2611 Broadway,
San Antonio, Texas.
Where can I park my vehicle?
There is no parking in the Fair Zone and only
limited parking throughout the remaining King William area. We
encourage you to carpool or take public transportation whenever
possible. Some property owners and parking lots may have parking
spots for sale, typically $10-$20/day. Free public parking is
available at 1901 S Alamo (corner of S Alamo and
S Flores).
Where can I park my bicycle?
A bicycle rack is located between S. St. Mary's Street and S. Alamo Street, in the grassy median between Durango Blvd. and Martinez St.
Are dogs allowed in the Fair Zone?
Dogs are allowed but must be restrained on a
leash. Please keep in mind that we expect 50,000 people, and
your dog may be more comfortable at home.
Where can I find a particular Arts &
Crafts or Food vendor?
Check this website for the general categories
of food and crafts available at the Fair. Time permitting, we
will post additional details here. However, many details will
not be finalized until immediately before the Fair starts. If
you need to find a particular vendor, please check your Fair
Program, which you’ll receive when you buy admission at the
gate. Or check with one of the Information Booths on Fair day.
How can I find out when a particular group is
performing?
Our Fair features local talent, and the
schedule will not be finalized until immediately before the
Fair. Please check your Fair Program for the stage schedules.
You’ll receive a Fair Program when you buy an admission, or
check with one of the Information Booths.
I'd like to be a vendor or parade entry; where can I look for answers?
Please see our Vendor information page
How long is the Parade route?
The Parade route is approximately 1.5 miles long.
